The Asia Air Transport Centre (AAT) announced that it has officially provided cargo handling services to Hong Kong Airlines and Hong Kong Cargo Airlines on 8 November 2017.
Hong Kong Airlines was established in 2006 as a Hong Kong based airline. Its route network has expanded rapidly in recent years, serving more than 40 major Asia-Pacific cities. In 2017, Hong Kong Airlines expanded its routes to North America with the launch of Vancouver and Los Angeles in December. Since 2011, Hong Kong Airlines has received a four-star rating from Skytrax.
Hong Kong Cargo Air is an all-cargo airline established in April 2017. It provides cargo services to more than 15 destinations around the world, operated by Airbus A330-200 cargo aircraft. Similar to Hong Kong Air passenger traffic, Hong Kong Cargo Air is committed to further developing its global route network.
With the addition of Hong Kong Airlines and Hong Kong Cargo Airlines to the AirAsia family, the operational scale of AirAsia will be greatly enhanced. "We are proud to welcome Hong Kong Airlines and Hong Kong Cargo Airlines," said Mr. Michael Ko, General Manager of AirAsia. Hong Kong Airlines and Hong Kong Cargo Airlines are the second largest airline group in Hong Kong. We have further upgraded our cargo terminal facilities and recruited more staff to meet their service requirements as base airlines. We are confident that AirAsia will be a strong and reliable partner for Hong Kong Airlines and Hong Kong Cargo Airlines in the development of their cargo business at Hong Kong International Airport, the busiest airport in the world
